Top 10 vegetarian food in Bukit Batok you must try
20 places on OneHungryHippo · reviewed October 2026
Bukit Batok has twenty vegetarian places in our directory, and the town splits into three easy clusters. The first is Bukit Batok Central, right by Bukit Batok MRT: Almond Bakery, Sunnychoice Vegan Cafe and Lan Xiang Yuan are each about a minute from the station, and Time's Vege is four minutes away. The second is the Blk 359 and Blk 373 area on Bukit Batok Street 31, three to four minutes from Bukit Gombak MRT. The third is spread across the HDB estates to the east and west, where single stalls sit in coffee shops and the West Hawker Centre.
The Bukit Batok Central strip is the one to pick for variety. Sunnychoice is fully vegan and serves thunder tea rice at $12.80, bibimbap at $11.30 and nasi lemak at $11.30. Time's Vege is a café with a yam ring, creamy abalone mushroom and lor mee. Almond Bakery sells vegan mini pizzas, chocolate cake and otak and pandan buns, and is closed on Sundays. Lan Xiang Yuan is the long-hours option, open from 5am to 9:30pm every day.
Blk 359 is a small vegetarian pocket. Hwa Jin Vegetarian Family Restaurant, Jin Yi Vegetarian and Wu Xin Vegetarian and Organic Products are all in the same block, with Xi Shi Fu, a morning stall serving bak kut teh, congee and fish soup, in Blk 373 next door. Jin Yi is known for fried hor fun with egg gravy, and states that no garlic or onion is used in its cooking. Hwa Jin lists dry noodles, claypot curry fish and century egg porridge. Wu Xin is a shop rather than a stall, selling buns, dumplings and mock char siew to take home.
Further out, the stalls are cheaper and earlier. Ann Healthy Vegetarian on Bukit Batok East Avenue 4 sells vegetarian bee hoon and laksa at $4 and asam fish soup at $5. Yi Pin Vegetarian charges about $4 to $6 a dish and opens at 5:30am. Ji Xiang on West Avenue 8 serves lor mee, Crystal Jade roll and luo han zai, and Nature Vegetarian Delights has curry lion mane mushroom noodles and mala xiang guo, served until mid-afternoon.

Good to know
- Getting there: Bukit Batok MRT for Bukit Batok Central (Almond Bakery, Sunnychoice, Lan Xiang Yuan, Time's Vege), Bukit Gombak MRT for Blk 359 and Blk 373 on Bukit Batok Street 31 and for Tanaka on Street 34. The estate stalls to the east and west are a 9 to 14 minute walk from either station, so a bus is easier.
- Rest days differ from stall to stall. Hwa Jin is closed on Wednesdays, Jin Yi and Wu Xin on Mondays, Tanaka on Tuesdays, Yuan Lai on Wednesdays, Ji Xiang on Thursdays, Village Vegetarian and Yi Pin on Mondays, and Ru Yi Yuan, Almond Bakery and Beng Shun at the weekend or on Sundays.
- Many stalls wrap up by early afternoon. Xi Shi Fu closes at noon, Ru Yi Yuan at 1:30pm, Beng Shun at 1pm, and Nature Vegetarian Delights at 3pm. For dinner, look at Lan Xiang Yuan (until 9:30pm), Time's Vege (10pm), Hwa Jin (9:30pm), Red Apple (9pm on most days) and Verimix (8pm).
- Allium and egg: Jin Yi states that no garlic or onion is used, and Nature Vegetarian Delights is described as an allium-free Chinese vegetarian restaurant. We have no confirmation for the other stalls, so ask before ordering if it matters. Egg shows up on several menus, including Jin Yi's egg gravy hor fun, Hwa Jin's century egg porridge and the stir-fried kuey teow with egg at Village Vegetarian.
- Fully vegan: Sunnychoice Vegan Cafe is the one fully vegan place in town. Almond Bakery and several stalls list vegan options, which usually means confirming egg and dairy at the counter.
- Hours and walking times were checked in October 2026. Stalls change rest days without notice, so look at the listing before a long trip.
